But for less “busy” destinations, the technique described here will help you get that perfect travel scenic shot you’ve got in your mind’s eye… sans tourists!

This shot is no doubt unposed, unplanned, spontaneous… and absolutely brilliant! A perfect example of why many us try to carry a camera around with us at all times. These rare moments pass by quickly — too quickly — and we’re all very lucky that Greg decided to share this with all of us.
Greg Lawler is a professional photographer in Santa Barbara, California. Check out his photo business site and photo of the day photoblog.

Evan Williams is from San Francisco, California. Some comments about this photograph: “Continued king of the surreal shot. nice one.” “Great shot! I like the otherworld atmosphere in this shot.” “Thought at first the background was of cars racing on the salt flats. Took a while to realize it was water. The ripples persist for so long, it makes it look like the boats are moving at super-high speeds… The foreground elements make the shot, of course, but they also make what’s happening in the background much more interesting. Has the feel of a photo from 1000 years in the future on some other planet, and a life of infinite possibilities — the white foreground element resembles an open, unwritten book (especially in the cropped thumbnail). Salvadore Dali might recognize the scene. Outstanding work!”
