Have you tried tilt-shift photography? I haven’t, but it sure has got me curious. What it is: Basically, a tilt-shift lens helps produce a very shallow depth of field; the resulting images often look like you’ve photographed miniatures (somewhat like transforming, say, a regular scenic into a diorama).
You can get name-brand tilt-shift lenses (like those by Canon and Nikon), but they cost a pretty penny. A good cheaper option would be the Lensbaby, but still, you’ll be shelling out bucks into the low 3-figures.
Well, how does a do-it-yourself tilt-shift lens for around $50 sound? I thought that’d get your attention. DigiHack’s got simple instructions for building one, right here:
